A Conversation That You Do NOT Want to Have With Your Six Year Old Son!!!

*just a back story we went to the mall to eat with our Granny and she took my Brain and Princess with her to the bathroom and on the way home this is the conversation.

The Brain: Mom we found something in the bathroom where the glo sticks come out and we had to throw it away(Granny did let me know what they had discovered) Why?

Mom: It is not for kids.

The Brain: Who is it for?

Mom: Women(you will notice my answers are short because quite honestly I wanted it to end here but knew it wouldn't).

The Brain: What do women use it for?

Mom: To stop bleeding.

The Brain: Where does it stop the bleeding?

To be quite honest I was speechlessly searching for away out of this conversation at this point or a really good answer, a good car accident could have done the trick neither came.

Mom: It stops them from bleeding in their underwear.

The Brain: Oh their underwear...(very long pause and then with much alarm) Do boys need that!?!

Mom: No

The Brain: Good(you have no idea)

Thank goodness this is when we got home!!!

How Do You Know You Have a Girly Girl?

*at age 5 getting dressed is a full blown event, right down to the matching shoes and socks(but how hard is it to match PINK)

*out comes the hair box and so it begins what matches the outfit and works with how the hair is going to be done-pigtails, braids, pony tail and the list goes on and on....

*lip gloss is next

*nails painted

*body spray finishes the morning routine

I do have a girly girl! Which is great with a houseful of boys! However I had not imagined at her ripe old age of 5 I would be supervising the above everyday!

Our First Valentines Day

David did the sweetest thing our first Valentines Day! He bought Valentines cards for every year from when we would have been in Kindergarten together until the present Valentines Day! I had Valentines with Blues Clues on them and Winnie the Pooh to Teenage ones and then more sentimental ones at the end. He said I was always his Valentine and had to make up for all the years he couldn't find me! I wonder what Buckets of Love Inc has in store for today!?!

Kids say...........

The teen was around 7 and we went to Bronners around Christmas time and he found money on the ground and without hesitation he said we needed to give it to the lady at the counter. I must have looked surprised at his honesty and told him I was proud of him for making the right choice without being prompted. His response was just the pat on the back any mom needs...
"What do you expect you raised me right!"

Kids say.............

"Mom I want to help you hatch the eggs!"

The laid back boy

* as a side note yes I let him help me CRACK the eggs..it was so cute to see him knocking it on the counter and me saying a little harder and he did crack it then as I start to show him how to put his thumbs into the crack to open it he just squeezes it as hard as he can and cracked that thing right into the bowl no shell too...but a huge mess on both of our hands...Did I mention I LOVE BEING A MOM(honestly no sarcasm intended)!!!!!

BOOKS, BOOKS, BOOKS

1. It Looked Like Spilt Milk(but it wasn't)

2. Little Quack- I read this for David's class and they all loved it!!!

3. I'll Love You Forever(sniffle, sniffle)

Up at 4:30am Due to Over Crowding

My honey started working his overnights last night and when he does the kids all take turns sleeping in my bed. In which order is done by drawing names out of a hat. Well, my princess got first draw and to be honest I was quite glad, she is the hardest to sleep with due to her intense need to snuggle so close. I don't know exactly what time child number 2 entered the picture I just remember hitting a head with my foot and realizing it was not a girl head. Then the next thing I knew the D4was right in my face exclaiming,"Jensen was missing from his bed" and I replied "he is in here" which I guess was an invitation to join us. Needless to say soon after the new edition to the bed I was up!!! The one good thing about getting up so early is I feel like I am way ahead of the game today but somehow I still managed to get the teen to seminary late...UGH!

The Hilarity of it All!!!

Today we were having a new water heater installed after many days of stopping leaks and cleaning up leaks with the latest round taking an hour to stop the leaking I was ready for today...or so I thought. First the workers came later than expected due to the fact one of their workers fell off a roof. Then when they did arrive they went right to work only to discover that the valve to shut off the gas to the house was stripped and unable to be turned off which lead to them needing to leave and us calling Consumers to come and fix it. The call went smooth someone will be out between 12-4 and we will receive a call 20 minutes before they come( I am still waiting for that call at 11:30 pm) Three hours after our water heater guys left they returned tired of waiting(and they thought Consumers would be there in an hour HAHA) they decided to try again to turn off the gas which they did..yea we are going to get this thing taken care of and so busy as beavers they went to work installing the water heater. Everything went off without a hitch they were done by 2:30ish not the 1oam I was planning on but it was done or so I thought.

We took the teen to soccer training and returned home at 7:45 and when I got out of the van I could smell gas and not just a little bit. I quickly call Consumers and we have to evacuate the house RIGHT NOW! The kicker we have to leave the house but stay with in sight of the house until Consumers arrives. Out we march the little guys weary, tired, a few tears were involved and in their jammies(did I mention 1 of them has the flu) out of the house and into the car. We back down the road a few houses and wait. Now Consumers protocal is 6o minutes from the call in a gas leak situation someone will be there.

I actually completely understand Lehi's situation when they need to leave their home and go into the wilderness and the whining of Laman and Lemuel because honestly this was the situation tired, whining kids. I understood completely why they were so upset and I am sure if the timing would have been different it would have been better. My husband being so smart actually told them the story of Lehi's family needing to leave their homw because it was going to be destroyed and how Laman and Lemuel complained but Nephi didn't because he knew his fahter was doing it protect them. You know what the whining and complaining stopped. Thank you honey!!!

As we are sitting there and counting down the minutes and it was 59 minutes we were ready to call Consumers again when at exactly 60 minutes they arrive. My hubby jumps out of the car walks down the street to our house with the Consumers truck following him. No sooner does he get all the way to our house, a light shines into the back of the car...Oh yes a police car not only do I have one behind me I have one in front of me as well. I of course explain what has happend and I am sure he got a good chuckle out of the whole thing. The neighbors called and said their was a car sitting by the side of the road. Just sitting their with people in it. Yup that would be the family EVACUATED from their house waiting to see if their house was going to blow before Consumers decided to show up!!!! Anyway I am glad today is over and we are in our house safe and sound!!!

I"ve Been Bugg Tagged

I've been tagged by my good friend! The rules: Name 10 things that bug you, then tag a few people. I don't know what she was thinking tagging me, I never get bugged, hehe. I am only going to tag a few people so I won't be placed on their bugged by list. I tag Melissa J., Linda S., Kat B., Stephanie L,and Emily P !! I hope you are not "BUGGED" that I tagged you. I can't wait to hear what BUGS you.

Not in any order of the things that bug me:

1. Calendering for a hour for the week and then half way through the week getting sick and your plans go down the toilet!

2. When I catch myself complaining about the stupidest stuff. And here I go...

3. Migraines

4. When I catch myself interrupting or when I am interrupted

5. Mormon Standard Time- HATE IT!!!

6. When I ignore that little whispering about something trivial but I still ignored it.

7. Texting-you have to have a teenager with a cell phone to get this one and while I am at it the bluetooth technology-you know the guy talking to himself at the store

8. I honestly don't get bugged too much. I am perty laid back. I am mostly bugged by my own imperfections(that I can do something about)

9. When I keep making the same mistake over and over again-hello I have enough to work on without having to have the same lesson over and over again get the lesson and move onto number 370 on the list

10. When I am having a rough day and then remember Did You Think to Pray? and the answer is no I didn't in the rush of the beginnings of the day I forgot the most important thing...if I start my day with a personal prayer and ask Heavenly Father to help with my day, to accomplish the things I have ahead of me would I have such a rough day? Hello! NO!!!

Women of God

An amazing quote about womanhood by Margaret D. Nadauld a former General Young Women President of the church.

"Women of God can never be like women of the world. The world has enough women who are tough; we need women who are tender. There are enough women who are coarse; we need women who are kind. There are enough women who are rude; we need women who are refined. We have enough women of fame and fortune; we need more women of faith. We have enough greed; we need more goodness. We have enough vanity; we need more virtue. We have enough popularity; we need more purity" ("The Joy of Womanhood," Ensign, Nov. 2000)
