Second opinions are a must if you know you are right!!!

Not a sprain, not torn ligaments...A break and I questioned the ER doctor when we were looking at the xrays and I thought it looked broken to me and I was right!

I heart....

the church and it's members. Why you ask? Because I know we can call at any ridiculous hour and have someone show up at my home and stay with sleeping kids while another one arrives at the ER to give a blessing, which is such an awesome blessing in and of itself!!! What else is there to say but THANK YOU!!!

Morning To Do's and Chore Charts

I had seen an idea here for a chore chart and liked it so much I copied it with a few changes.

I found these metal pictures at the dollar store and knew they would work for my purpose. I let the kids shop my old scrapbook paper(it didn't matter if they all matched or if they matched the room they were going to be in because they are going to be hanging inside my cupboard) and cut it to size and then with double stick tape covered them.

I typed up their lists on the computer and laminated them. I made 3 different chore list to rotate between the 3 younger kids and 1 list for the big guy. I also made a list for the 3 younger kids of the things they need to do in the morning before they can go and play.

I added magnets to the backs of the lists so I could easily change them.

I made these matching magnets by cutting circles out of the leftover scrapbook paper and adhering with modge podge letting it dry and then adding magnets to the backs.

And here are my finished products...

The magnets start at the bottom of their charts and as the complete their tasks they move the magnet to "check" it off!!!

The Party

The Decorations

The Cake

The Gifts and the girl

(with one of our most precious gifts this wonderful little spirit we are so blessed to have with us)

The Fancy Nancy Room Part 1

This was so fun to do with Julianna. Yes it is a modge podge of everything but this is my version of a Fancy Nancy room and she loves it in all its fanciness!

There is still a touch more work to do, but here are some snippets of the room so far:

THE INSPIRATION
(I show this as a warning of things to comeand so you don't think I am crazy)

The books she LOVES so much!!!

This was given to us and was a plain old white pantry. .57 knobs from Lowes and $1 sheet of room decals from the Dollar Tree and we have made it Fancy Nancy for under $4.

This is the bottom that stores some of her toys and her much loved craft supplies and some are being used right now!

And here is the top. We removed the shelves and added a dowel to hang her dresses from and on the doors we added hooks for her belts and necklaces.

The Fancy Nancy Room Part 2

A few more things to make it Fancy.....

The Fancy Nancy Room Part 3

The Rug(Target)

The Floor

The floor wonce was a beaten up wood floor with no hope of saving it I painted it white.

The Bed and....

Walls(white, cupid pink, and prom pink...yes I let her choose)

The Fancy Nancy room Part 4

Art work she painted with her daddy

(it was five times this size and I picked a portion of it to frame)

A Fancy Nacy room wouldn't be complete without a feather boa and some tulle!!!

On top of her redone pantry we find some family treasures.

A bunny and rocker from her Great Grandma Neal, a doll basket form her Grandma Miller, 3 dolls in the basket 1 from her Great Great Grandma Walker, 1 from her Great Great Grandma Neal and 1 made by her Great Grandma Miller for her Grandma Miller(it was her 1st doll), and in the back a needle point done by her Great Grandma Mattingly.

Picture frames a plenty...

this is one of those not quite finished projects. The frames will eventually have some sheet metal covered with scrapbook paper to hang her special treasures. As you can see already she has shoved some pictures in them.

She absolutely loves this picture.

It was hanging at a friends house and Julianna had commented she loved it and now it is hers!

The Fancy Nancy Room Part 5

I wish I had done more before and afters but here is one:
Before Fancy

After Fancy

This is how I did it:
pull the middle out of the flower, remove knob, add flower to knob, reattach knob it took $3 and 5 minutes to do!
